Shri Sukesh Kumar Sharma assumed charge as the Additional General Manager of Southern Railway today (09.11.2014, Sunday). His role as Additional General Manager includes the portfolio of Director, Public Grievances, Public Relations and Appellate Authority for Public Information under Right to Information Act.Prior to joining Southern Railway, he served as the Chief Administrative Officer/Construction, South Central Railway, Secunderabad.
The new Additional General Manager of Southern Railway, holder of an M.Tech. from IIT, Roorkee, joined Railway Service in the year 1979 in Eastern Railway.

He was the Chief General Engineer/Chief Planning & Design Engineer and Chief Track Engineer, South Central Railway, Secunderabad; Divisional Railway Manager, South Central Railway, Vijayawada Division; Principal Chief Engineer, North Central Railway, Allahabad.
He has rich and vast experience in construction of long span bridges, planning and construction of new line projects, doubling works, Gauge Conversion works, construction of track diversion works, planning and construction of outdoor and indoor signalling works, planning and construction of overhead electrification works, high rise buildings and green buildings.
