CONFIRMED PASSENGERS CAN BOOK MEALS on-LINE, THROUGH CALL OR THROUGH SMS MODES
WAIT-LISTED PASSENGER CAN BOOK MEALS on CALL OR THROUGH SMS
The Indian Railway has stepped up its endeavour to provide wider options to the travelling public to opt for their choice of meals through e-catering services by extending this facility to 25 more pairs of trains on all-India circuit. Commencing e-catering as a pilot project on 14 pairs of trains as a budgetary initiative on the Delhi-Amritsar & Delhi-Jammu Tawi sections in January 2015, the Railways has extended this facility to 25 more pairs of trains in the second phase. The Railway has tied-up for supply of food on select locations for the 39 pairs of trains on the whole with IRCTC food plazas and fast-food units.
The e-catering facility is available through three modes of booking i.e. Meals on Call, Meals through SMS and Meals on online booking on IRCTC’s web-portal. Passengers with confirmed reservation can book their meals on-line i.e. atwww.ecatering.irctc.co.inor through call centre by calling at 1800-1034-139 or SMS PNR at 139. However, passengers with wait-listed tickets can book on call or SMS only.
