Over 33 lakh passengers travel by Delhi metro on 17th august 9 highest ridership records set so far this month out of top 10
The Delhi Metro achieved a milestone on Wednesday, 17th August 2016 when over 33 lakh people traveled on the Metro for the first time ever throughout the day. Delhi Metro recorded the highest ever ridership figure of 33, 61,911on Wednesday i.e, on the eve of Rakshbandhan. The linewise breakup of ridership for 17th August 2016 is given below:

In order to provide uninterrupted and comfortable service to the commuters, DMRC is already running extra trips on Saturdays and Sundays during the month and also ran 106 extra trips on Wednesday in anticipation of this expected increase in number of users on the eve of Rakshabandhan.
The month of August so far has resulted in a ridership boost for DMRC as nine out of ten ridership records are all set up during this month so far. It is noteworthy to mention that DMRC personnel and management have ensured that not a single failure is reported on while running and operating the stations/trains as the ridership increases due to festive season, colleges opening and monsoon season.
