The Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu in a function held today i.e. on 30.11.2016 in Rail Bhawan flagged off Train 14117/14118 MANWAR- SANGAM EXPRESS (Allahabad- Basti- Allahabad) (5 days a week) through Video Conferencing between Rail Bhawan New Delhi and Basti Railway Station. Minister of State for Communication (Independent Charge) & Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha and Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain were especially present on the occasion. Chairman, Railway Board, other Board Members and various other dignitaries were among those present at the Rail Bhawan.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of Railways Shri Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu said that Uttar Pradesh is a large and populous State and thus seamless rail connectivity among all the districts of Uttar Pradesh has always been in demand by the people of UP. He said that Allahabad and Ayodhya are religious places and the new rail connectivity between Allahabad and Basti will also facilitate lakhs and lakhs of pilgrims to reach these religious places. The Railway Minister requested the general public not to travel ticketless in the interest of the nation.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Communication (Independent Charge) & Minister of State for Railways Shri Manoj Sinha said that every citizen of the country wants to be socially and economically strengthened and to fulfil this desire he needs cheap and best transport system in the country. He further said that Uttar Pradesh is the largest State of India which has infinite possibilities to grow socially and economically. Thus, working on the concept, Indian Railways, in recent past, in order to provide best railway infrastructure in UP State has launched various new train services and other initiatives too.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Railways Shri Rajen Gohain in his Address emphasised on the need of strong rail connectivity for Uttar Pradesh State. He said that Railways is in process of introducing some more initiatives in this State
Salient Features of the New Trains
Indian Railways, introduces a new Express train service viz. 14117/14118 Allahabad-Basti Express (05 days a week) [Non-Budget]. This will link Basti and Allahabad area via Ayodhya, Faizabad. The service would be inaugurated (on 30.11.2016) by Minister of Railway through video conferencing from Rail Bhavan, New Delhi. Shri Harish Dwivedi, Member of Parliament along with local MPs and MLAs within whose constituencies lies the originating/terminating station and passing stations will grace the flagging off function at Basti.
