Singareni Collieries Company Limited Pays Rs.50 Crore to South Central Railway for Bhadrachalam Road-Sattupalli New Railway Line Project



The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) has made a payment of Rs. 50 Crore to South Central Railway towards the Bhadrachalam Road – Sattupalli New Railway Line Project. Shri N. Sridhar, Chairman & Managing Director, SCCL met Shri Vinod Kumar Yadav, General Manager, SCR at Rail Nilayam today i.e., 5th July, 2017 and presented a cheque for the amount.

The Bhadrachalam Road-Sattupalli New Railway Line Project is to a length of 56.25 kms and estimated to cost Rs. 704.31 Crore. The SCCL will be bearing the entire cost of the project while the land acquisition cost will be incurred by the Railways. Joint Inspection for land acquisition has been undertaken and the construction work on the project is slated to take off. Issues concerning the same were also discussed by the CMD, SCCL and GM, SCR during the course of their meeting today. This new rail line project is crucial in terms of transportation of Coal from the Singareni Collieries and is expected to lessen pollution generated by transport of coal on road by Lorries at present.

The Railway Officials present at the meeting were Shri N.Madhusudhan Rao, Chief Operations Manager; Smt. Padmini Radhakrishnan, Financial Advisor & Chief Accounts Officer; Shri G. Brahmananda Reddy, Chief Engineer & Shri B. Nagya, Chief Freight Transportation Manager, SCR. Shri Nanduri Srinivas, Executive Director (Coal Marketing), SCCL was also present.
