Divisional Railway Users' Consultative Committee Meeting held in Hyderabad Division


The 48thDivisional Railway Users Consultative Committee Meeting was held today (25.08.2011) at Secunderabad in Hyderabad Division of South Central Railway under the Chairmanship of Shri Margoob Hussain, Divisional Railway Manager, Hyderabad Division. Shri R.G. Kanakaraj, Secretary and Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Additional Divisional Railway Manager and other Branch Officers of Hyderabad Division attended the meeting. Out of 21 nominated members of Divisional Railway Users’ Consultative Committee, 15 members attended the meeting.
While welcoming the members, Shri Margoob Hussain, the Chairman highlighted the performance of the Hyderabad Division during first quarter of current financial year. Various improvements to passenger services such as opening of new halt station, opening of new private siding, awarding of new parking contracts, awarding of miscellaneous stall contracts, opening of Unreserved Ticketing System Terminals (UTS), opening of Passenger Reservation System terminals, introduction of new MMTS trains, introduction of new Passenger trains, extension of long distance trains, etc were highlighted by the Chairman. He also elaborated the measures taken to improve cleanliness/safety at stations and trains, security of the passengers and supply of safe drinking water etc.
The members expressed their appreciation for improvement to passenger amenities at stations and introduction of additional trains. The members put forth their demands for introduction of new trains, provision of additional Passenger Reservation System Counters, increasing time limit of Tatkal Tickets, improvement of Station buildings, enhancing security of passengers by trains, augmentation of sleeper coaches and general coaches by trains, provision of additional stoppages to train Secunderabad-Manmad Ajanta Express at Umri and Malkajgiri, improving the condition of coaches, cleanliness, drinking water at certain stations, amenities provided to physically challenged persons etc.
