SCR Arrests Three Touts Selling Tatkal Tickets

SCR vigilance team conducted a raid today (24^th August, 2011) at Computerised Passenger Reservation Counterat State Assembly Complex, Hyderabad and nabbed three touts Viz. Syed Vali Peeran, Karri Rama Krishna and Banoth Giri Babu, all residents of new MLA Quarters, Hyderabad. These touts were caught red handed whileindulging in unauthorized buying and selling of Tatkal Tickets at a premiumforjourney by various trains. The raid was carried out o­n receipt of vigilance input gathered byRailway Protection Force personnel.

Tatkal Tickets worth Rs. 40,000/- and Rs. 24, 100/- in cash were also seized from these accused by the vigilance team. Syed Vali Peeran and Rama Krishna were handed to Saifabad Police Station for further action and Giri Babu is being prosecuted under Railways Act.

During the raid, it was also found out that Syed Vali Peeran and Rama Krishna wereindulging in getting reservations in trains through emergency quota for wait listed customers by using the letter heads of various politicians. Filled & signed, blank & signed letter heads of different politicians which were used for securing emergency quota to their customers were also found in their possession.
