Suburban travellers' calendar released

The General Manager (Transportation), South Central Railway Mr. A. Bharat Bhushan, released Suburban Train & Bus Travellers Association calendar recently and distributed to the members and well wishers of the association. He assured that all possible steps to provide better facilities and train services to commuters. The association thanked Railway authorities for taking efforts to complete electrification of suburban train services (MMTS II) pending since three decades for want of funds. Every year while the SCR is sending proposal to Railway Board for approval, it is being turned downed by the Board. The association appeals The General Manager SCR Mr. G N Asthana to use his good office and see that this project is included in the Pink Book and allotment of funds in ensuing Railway Budget to mitigate the hardships of commuters within Hyderabad division. The association urges the Chief Minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy to advice concerned State authorities to release funds and credit to Railway account as agreed in principle vide G. O. Ms. No. 174 dated 20-04-2010 to commence the work immediately upon approval from Railway Board to provide better and fast mode of public transport system to Greater Hyderabad travellers on par with other metro cities. A. V. Swamy, president, Noor, general secretary, Haseena and Rakeeb conveyed New Year greetings to Mr. Bharat Bhushan.
