Whenver you dont have access to internet then also you can get PNR Status by simply sending a sms to 56161.
if your pnr number is "1234567890", then send "PNR 1234567890" to 56161.

Open irctc pnr status website: enter 10 digit pnr number in the textbox provided and click on submit.
You can see the PNR status details like Seat number,Travel Date, Train Name, Train Number,Train timings etc.
If you are unable to remember the PNR status , You can even forward the IRCTC PNR status to you mobile as SMS. You can do this simply enter mobile number and click on submit button.
