Shri Devi Prasad Pande Takes Over the Charge of General Manager, South Central Railway

                                                

Shri Devi Prasad Pande has taken over the charge of General Manager, South Central Railway today ie, 10th April, 2013. He was Additional Member (Traffic), Railway Board, New Delhi prior to his posting as GM / SCR. He succeeds Shri Ashok Kumar Mital who has been working as Incharge General Manager, SCR.
Born o­n 15thJanuary, 1955 at Kanpur, Shri Devi Prasad Pande did his MA in Modern History from Allahabad University. An Officer of Indian Railways Traffic Service (IRTS) of 1976 batch, Shri D.P.Pande has rich and varied experience in Operations and Commercial branches and has held several important executive and managerial posts o­n Indian Railways.

Earlier, Shri D.P. Pande worked as Dy. Chief Operations Manager, Chief Passenger Traffic Manager and Chief Freight Traffic Manager in Northern Railway. He worked in Railway Board as Executive Director / Planning where he dealt the subjects of Five Year Plans, Corporate Plans, Annual Plans and formulation of Budget of Indian Railways etc.

He worked as Divisional Railway Manager, Bhopal Division from 2004 to 2006 where he introduced several innovations and changes in working.Again, he was posted in Railway Board and held several key posts such as Executive Director/Traffic Transportation (Movement), Adviser (Marketing & Logistics), Advisor/ Traffic Transportation (Movement) before his promotion as Additional Member (Traffic) in April, 2012.

He is the recipient of the prestigious Railway Minister’s Award. He is an avid reader and has keen interest in writing and sporting activities.
