Western Railway is launching an extensive cleanliness drive from 2nd Oct, 2014 for intensive cleaning of railway stations, station premises, railway colonies, offices etc. At the same time, Western Railway has undertaken a campaign to spread awareness amongst people about maintaining clean surroundings.
The awareness campaign of Western Railway is also being supported by corporates. A special awareness drive has been launched at Churchgate station from today. Volunteers dressed like a dustbin are seen educating people about benefits of keeping the surroundings clean. The objective of this drive is to sensitise people about cleanliness and bring about a positive change in their mindset. An appeal is being made about the collective responsibility of keeping the station premises clean.
The cleanliness drive starting from 2nd October, 2014 will cover stations and colonies where railway officials & staff will participate in ‘Shramdan’ and clean the area. Various corporate officials including CEOs and executives will also join hands with Western Railway and participate in the cleanliness drive on 2nd October.
