the Southern Railway is also planning to flag off the Intercity Express to Mangalore Central from Coimbatore from Friday – June 13 (Intercity Express between Mangalore Central to Palakkad is being extended up to Coimbatore). The extended train service 22610 will depart Coimbatore at 6.20 hours in the morning to reach Palakkad at 7.20 hours and depart at 7.25 hours to reach Mangalore at 1.40 hours.
In the return direction, Train No 22609 would depart at Mangalore at 11.45 hours and reach Palakkad at 17.40 hours and reach Coimbatore at 18.45 hours.
Coimbatore Railway Struggle Committee also sought the speedy introduction of the other trains announced in the railway budget. The other expectations are for early introduction of Train No. 22475/76 weekly AC train between Coimbatore and Bikaner.
