Two more platforms at Gudur railway station

A policy decision has been taken to add two more platforms at the Gudur railway station to meet the growing requirements of traffic at this busy railway junction in the State.
Sanction given
During his visit to the station, South Central Railway general manager G.N. Asthana indicated that sanction has already been given for the new railway platforms here. As many as 140 trains, which include 90 passenger-carrying trains, pass through this station everyday.
The existing three platforms are considered insufficient in view of the increasing traffic.
During his brief visit on Tuesday night, Mr. Asthana inspected the station platforms and the foot over bridge there. Divisional Railway Manager Anurag and other officials were present. Gudur railway station manager R.G.S.S. Kumar received the GM.
Mr. Asthana along with Mr. Anurag made the visit in a special train and they had a brief stop-over for 10 minutes at the Nellore railway station. The General Manager enquired about the activities with local manager Jayaraj and others.
